ESCOM 2018

The International Conference on Music Perception and Cognition (ICMPC) takes place every two years, and the 15th event in the series is planned for 23-28 July 2018. Continuing a traditional 6-year cycle, the conference will be combined with the 10th triennial conference of the European Society for the Cognitive Sciences of Music (ESCOM).

For the first time, ICMPC15-ESCOM10 will be distributed across hubs on different continents, communicating via an internet cloud. We will strike a new balance between face-to-face and virtual communication and between activities on different continents to create a truly global conference.
The number of people attending each hub will depend on the number of accepted abstracts. The Graz hub will run the peer-review procedure, determine the live program at each hub (in collaboration with hub organizers), and provide guidelines and technical support. Beyond that, the hubs will be nominally equal, offering comparable facilities and program and charging similar registration fees.

Confirmed hubs:

Graz, Austria (Centre for Systematic Musicology, University of Graz)
La Plata, Argentina (Faculty of Fine Arts, National University of La Plata)
Montréal, Québec (Department of Music, Concordia University)
Sydney, Australia (School of the Arts and Media, University of New South Wales)

NetSoft 2018 – 4th IEEE Conference on Network Softwarization

NetSoft 2018 will shed light on the key technology components and systems underlying SDN-NFV, clouds-edges and emerging network service infrastructures for the efficient handling of heterogeneous resources across networks and datacenter domains, and the easy and fast deployment of new ICT services.
As the growing need for agility, automation and autonomy, witnessed by various operating-platform initiatives, is creating new challenges and calling for novel solutions, smart networking with embedded AI leveraging NFV and SDN becomes essential.
This evolution will be reflected in the theme of the 2018 edition of NetSoft: “Achieving smart network softwarization”.
